What is Spin a Tale?

A blogging party where we create a story. Stories are fun and blog hopping is fun, so I'm combining the two! 

How to play?

The tale begins:

It was a dark and stormy night. She peered out of the window anxiously.....

The tale so far (as of 8th day of September in the year 2009):

It was a dark and stormy night. She peered out of the window anxiously.....

There in the woods, she could see one lone bush swaying back and forth. When the lightning flashed in the sky, she could barely make out what looked like a silhouette of someone. She went to another window to see if she could see more clearly...

A great bolt of lightning flashed just as she reached the window. Her fears were confirmed. There on her terrace stood a figure in a dark coat, and their hat was pulled down on their head. She couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman.....

Her heart was pounding like thunder inside her chest. She slid to the floor, crouching in the darkness, her mind racing with images of being attacked and left for dead. She prayed for strength and courage to come up with a plan......
