Hola! Yesterday I had gone out to Lexington, a town in Massachusetts.
I thought I would walk around in the sunshine and take some pictures. The sun was shining, I ran some errands, hoping to take pictures after. I finished the last errand, stepped out of the store and the sunny day was no more. There were fat grey clouds in the sky! I started taking pictures, hoping my luck would hold. Just a few shots taken and it started to rain. And such is life......
Happy Mother's day and a huge shout out to my mom. She is my biggest cheer leader, encourages me in all my endeavors, keeps me going when I want to give up! And yes, I was afraid of her when I was a kid. Being an only child any midemeanors meant I got sternly disciplined and there was no one else to blame :-). But I wouldn't have turned out the way I did without that discipline!
She is also an awesome cook. In my fourth standard (grades are called standards in India) essay I had written "my mother makes delicious food". This had especially intrigued my teacher and she had asked my mom what she made. Fortunately, I did inherit her genes for cooking even though I used to dislike cooking as a teenager.
Thanks for everything mom!
Happy Mother's day!
For the "Being Creative" party I am sharing one of the photos I took yesterday. What will you share?
There are buds on the trees in New England. Tiny little pink buds and a cerulean blue sky.
Go on over to Beverly's to see more pink.
Here's a photo I manipulated it in Photoshop, I think the hint of pink gives it some mystery. This vignette is from a walking trail in New England.
And here is the original.....
I hope you will join me this Sunday for the Being Creative blog party!
Now to enjoy more pinks go on over to Beverly's.
I am at a loss for things to post, with the cold and the snow, I haven't been going out and taking pictures. And daylight is gone by the time I leave work. And I am tired so maybe that's why this chair popped into my head.
So this is a picture from last summer. I saw this chair hanging out at the edge of a field. Just sitting there. Now the practical me knows that it was out there for trash. But I think it is more fun to imagine that it was there for a weary traveller to rest or for some children to play. Anyone remember the game of musical chairs?
Driving by a field in New England, it makes me feel like quoting Robert Frost:
When you have experienced a New England winter it becomes easier to understand what inspired this poetry.
A little closer.....
A little further....
Please do join me this Sunday for a Creative Party and share your photographs or anything you created. More details here: http://gorgeousandfun.typepad.com/gorgeous_and_fun/2011/02/pink-books.html
Go on over to Susan's see more of the outdoors.
A pink building in Mumbai (Bombay), India. I took this picture as we passed the building in a cab. The minute I saw it 'Pink Saturday' flashed in my mind.
Btw did you notice the new blog look? I worked on it last weekend. I was tired of the purple colored font and was bored of my old banner. I really like the new look. And did you notice the new pink banner? Although the banner is likely to change, I am going to work with a designer to have a fun new banner made.
Go on over to Beverly's to enjoy more pink!
Sharing gorgeousness
